San Diego International Airport – Terminal 1 Redevelopment

About This Project

CriticalArc was recently awarded the On-Call Commissioning Services contract for the San Diego Airport. This contract has already produced nine separate projects, one of which is the Terminal 1 redevelopment project, a $2.6B replacement of the existing Terminal 1, slated to receive a LEED Silver designation. This project consists of a new 30-gate concourse and will be a two-phase design-build delivery approach. Our scope consists of the commissioning of building enclosures, MEP, HVAC controls, emergency power, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and all special systems and associated integrations. We have fifteen personnel dedicated to the program. On this project, we are hired directly by the San Diego Regional Airport Authority; however, we are also working with Turner Construction, which has allowed the design coordination process to benefit from the existing working relationship that our companies have. The On-Call contract is for 7 years and is projected out through 2027.
